Energized for the coming year and inviting all, Caroline's seven school principals are encouraging parents and students to attend upcoming Open Houses and Orientations next Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 1 and 2, as the way to start the school year off right. "We look forward to having you meet our new and returning dynamic teachers," said Principal Tucker Donahoe of Caroline High School. A few miles up the road at Ladysmith, Caroline Diversified Learning Center Principal Rylene Mickleberry encourages students and their parents "meet the teachers and explore the curriculum being used to promote success at CDLC." In the center of the county, Michelle Hinegardner, Principal at Bowling Green Primary, said, "Being my first year at Bowling Green Primary, I am anxiously awaiting the opportunity to meet new parents and students so that we can have a successful start to a new and exciting school year."
Just across Richmond Turnpike at Bowling Green Elementary, Principal Jeff Wick said, "I am excited to begin my first full year at BGE, and the staff is anxious to meet you and your children. Our new slogan is 'Believe, Grow, Excel!' Because parent involvement is crucial to your child's success, I hope to see a big turnout for Open House so both parents and students can meet their teachers."
Just across the athletic field from the high school, Derrick Scarborough, Principal of Caroline Middle School, said, "I am excited about the start of the 2010-11 School Year as it brings us all a new opportunity to develop relationships with our school community. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to see their child's classrooms and visit with their teachers. This also provides you the chance to complete the needed paperwork for the year. "We will also have our sixth grade orientation on Wednesday, September 1 from 5:30 to 7:00, where'll we'll have a brief program in the auditorium for parents and students followed by an opportunity for parents to fill out some paperwork. You will also be given the opportunity to tour the building, try your hand at opening your locker, purchasing your gym suit, and talking with your child's teachers, guidance counselors and administrators."
At Ladysmith, Harold Pellegreen, Principal of Lewis and Clarke Elementary, said, "Come meet your child's teacher and prepare to 'Explore the World of Learning.' Let's start the year working as a team to assure your child is successful. Together, we make a difference. We look forward to meeting you." And just south of Ladysmith at Madison Elementary, Principal Debra Holt, thrilled with the school's attractive new look, said, "Our school has received many renovations this summer and we can't wait for our parents and community members to see it! Teachers are enthusiastic about the up and coming school year and have been busy getting ready for a successful year."
