Economy is Greatest National
Issue Concerning Web Voters
The state of the economy is the top national issue of those responding to a Caroline County government web poll.
In an online poll taken July 12 through July 26, a total of 34 percent of web voters say that the national economy is the top issue. Runner-up was high unemployment with 19 percent and third was the Gulf oil spill at 17 percent. The country being involved in two wars was the choice of 15 percent of the voters, with immigration reform garnering nine percent and the nomination of Elena Kagan to the US Supreme Court receiving six percent.
A total of 127 responses were received.
Visitors to the Caroline County government website, www.visitcaroline.com, are invited to participate in web polls regardless of whether they are Caroline County residents or not. Only one vote per visitor is requested.
