Caroline High School has a new electronic scoreboard. It was installed prior to the football team's final game of the season and used for that contest.
Personnel from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative removed the old scoreboard and installed the new one at no charge to the school. School system maintenance employees completed the electrical wiring and hook-up. The new scoreboard, which replaced an old, outdated one that no longer functioned properly, cost $10,562. The school athletic department contributed $2,400, and the Booster Club donated $2,300. The county school system allocated $1,200, and other funds came from a facility rental fee and personal donations.
Donations were received from James and Catherine Rigg, Cleveland and Mary Rock, and Herbert and Sylva Tate. "It has been a major effort to obtain and make certain that the new scoreboard was purchased and installed before the end of the season," said school athletic director Jeremy Jack. "It has been a total effort by all involved, and we are very excited to unveil the new scoreboard for the final game of the season," he added.
