Caroline hosts District Basketball, Golf and Track competitions

Caroline High School athletes will be busy hosts starting this September as they welcome the seven schools of the Battlefield District to three district competitions this year. The first, the Battlefield District Golf Tournament, will be held at Mattaponi Springs Golf Course on Sept. 28. The second, the Battlefield District Boys Basketball Tournament, which includes semi-finals and finals, will be held in February. And the third, held in May, is the Battlefield District Track Meet. Schools in the Battlefield District are Caroline, Culpeper, Eastern View, Chancellor, Courtland, James Monroe, King George and Spotsylvania.

Caroline Varsity and Junior Varsity players have a home scrimmage with John Marshall on Aug. 27, starting at 10 a.m. Caroline football will also be have a benefit game at Patrick Henry on Sept. 2. Admission will be charged and proceeds will be divided up between Patrick Henry Athletics, Caroline Athletics, and the VHSL foundation which supports athletic and academic programs throughout the state. The first regular game of the season is Sept. 10, away at Henrico. Cavalier Football now has its own website showing schedules, scores, statistics on players and coaches, records, awards and photos.
