  • January 20, 2009 -Mr. B's Bluegrass Park open for Inauguration 2009 - Mr. B's Campground will open Friday, January 16, 2009. Make our Campground your home base location for Inaugural Activies in Washington, D.C. as well as Inaugural Balls in Alexandria and Richmond Virginia. Reservations are strongly suggested.

  • January 29 - (Thursday) The Caroline Chamber of Commerce Annual Membership Meeting and Installation of Officers will be combined with the Annual State of the County Address this year on Thursday evening, January 29 at 7:00 pm at the Community Services Center. The featured speaker will talk about Caroline County’s economic health and direction in 2009. The public is invited to the event, which is free to all attendees. Coffee and desserts will be served.   • February 7 -Polar Bear Plunge, Little Beach, Lake Caroline - Wrights Chapel United Methodist Church is seeking participants for their annual Fundraiser; "Polar Bear Plunge". Beginning at 10:00 at Little Beach, registered members will meet and begin the plunge at 10:30 a.m. Participants are invited to come in costume to be judged in a Costume Contest. Light refreshments will be served. Pre-registration is required. Those who register by January 15, 2009 and raise at least $100.00 will receive a t-shirt. Those who register later and raise at least $100. may receive a t-shirt if they are available. March, 2009
  • March 7 & 8 2009 - Caroline Sports Festival - Held at the Community Services Center in Caroline County, the Optimist Club presents two days of special guests signing autographs and vendors selling sports memorabilia. Guests include Redskins Mark Moseley, Steelers' All-Pro Connie Shell, Bills All-Pro kicker Scott Norwood and New York Mets' All Star Amos Otis to name a few. For a complete list of special guests download the promotional flyer here. The festival is held to raise funds for the Optimist Club of Caroline County, whose mission is to serve youth.

  • March 14, 2009 - Harlem Ambassadors Basketball Show Caroline's Promise is bringing the Harlem Ambassadors back to Caroline County! Get ready for dazzling ball-handling tricks, high-flying slam dunks and hilarious family comedy. Join the Harlem Ambassadors Basketball Show on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Caroline High School Gym, as they take on the Caroline Crushers. Sheriff Tony Lippa will referee the game. Caroline Crushers team will include Supervisor Floyd Thomas as Coach. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. For more information, contact Caroline's Promise at (804) 916-9619.     "The Caroline Library Art Show will feature works by Tavie Glassmire, Sidney King and Joe Umble throughout April.   • April 4, 2009 - Antiques Road Show will benefit Old Pauly Jail in Bowling Green
    Have you been wondering how much your Grandma Emma's cobwebbed, dusty old spinning wheel might be worth? It could be a gold mine. Or how about the weighty muzzleloader with the bent bayonet Grandpa Theodore hefted during the Civil War? Now you can find out at the Antiques Roadshow coming to Caroline.   • May 16, 2009 - Ladysmith Day 2009

    This coming May 16th, the Ladysmith area will be host to Ladysmith Day, a free event open to the public. Events will take place from 10am until 5pm in various locations around Ladysmith. Trolleys will be available to transport attendees from location to location throughout the day. 

    The center of activity will take place in the Ladysmith Business Park, where there will be a street festival showcasing local businesses and craft vendors. The street festival will feature live entertainment, including performances by The Milford Station Bluegrass Band, Rich Whiskey Audition, Richard Green and Debbie Houston, and "Elvis". There will plenty of activities for the little ones as well, so bring the whole family! 

    Some examples of the attractions around the area, which will be serviced by the trolleys, include a classic car show, talent competition, and cookout. Information regarding the details of the side events will be added to the website (www.LadysmithDay.com) as they become available. Businesses and Craft vendors who are interested in participating in the Street Festival should e-mail their information to LadysmithDay@gmail.com by April 10th.

Girl Scout Troop 304/639 is teaming up with Virginia Blood Services during the 1st annual Day of Caring in Caroline from 3pm to 7pm at Calvalry Baptist Church located at 120 Milford Street Bowling Green Va.     What's your Scare Threshold? Incident at Froggy Bottom has something for the entire famly. Haunted barn, haunted trail, rope obstacle course and illusion show by guest magician Dave Powers. Frog Level Farm is open for scary fun every Friday and Saturday night in October from 7:00 p.m. until midnight.     The Rappahannock Council on Domestic Violence will be hosting their 1st Annual Golf Tournament on October 3, 2009 at Pendleton Golf Club.   • October 10 2009 - Special Olympics Virginia Soccer Challenge
    Caroline County will host the 6th Annual Soccer Challenge for Special Olumpics Virginia. Over 150 athletes and 20 teams from throughout the state of Virginia will be participate in the Soccer Challenge on Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Caroline Recreation Park on Devil’s Three Road.   • October 17 2009 - 20th Annual Bowling Green Harvest Festival
    9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - The Annual Harvest Festival closes downtown Main Street in Bowling Green for a fantastic day of live entertainment, food, crafts, car and motorcycle show and displays. Vendors line the streets providing a unique shopping experience. In the middle of town enjoy live performances by talented musicians playing your favorite songs. Children enjoy painting pumpkins, riding rides, face painting and much more. The event is free to the public and normally draws over 10,000 people each year.   • October 24 & 25 2009 - Meadow Highland Games & Celtic Festival 2009

  • October 31 2009 - Frog Level Festival & Parade
    Nothing says Fall like a parade! The parade is filled with fire trucks, horses, community groups, and much more! At the end of the parade there are lots of children's games, craft vendors, and food including the hometown favorite Brunswick Stew! For more information call (804) 994-5559.
