Bethel barbecue nets over $500 for new Dawn Library

By Ed Simmons, Jr.

Saturday night's barbecue at Bethel United Methodist Church was the latest successful and lucrative fundraiser for the new library in Dawn.

"I am depositing $517 to our bank account thanks to the folks at Bethel UMC and especially to George and Daphne Masten," said Gladys Norris, treasurer of the Dawn Library Committee.

Masten estimated there were about 100 guests.

The next library fundraiser is May 7 for a Dinner and Auction at Bowling Green Town Hall. Then on June 12 there is a Flea Market, starting at 8 a.m., and Fish Fry at noon hosted by 2nd Mt. Zion Baptist Church at the Dawn Progressive Center.
