Last Friday the library and halls of Caroline High were thronged with visitors for the annual Caroline Art Show and its dizzying, kaleidoscopic display of student art that was both vibrantly colorful and fantastic in youthful imagination.
The outpouring of creativity, featuring paintings, sketches, photographs, graphics, sculpture and crafts, was the work of Caroline art students from the primary grades to high school, instructed by art teachers Anne Pontius, Ashley Martin, Kelly Carnohan Katie Boltz, Vera Underwood, Joan Dudley and Melissa Fisher.
Students awarded ribbons were:
- Art I - Chelsea Johnson (Best in Show), Hiba'Ann Seager (1st), Sarah Arkenbout (2nd) and Taylor Verne (3rd).
Art 2 - Sabrina Mines (Best in Show), Amber Kelly (1st), Zach Gotschalk (2nd) and Alma Monroy (3rd).
Art 3 & 4 - Hailee Manipole (Best in Show), Kirk Jewell (1st), Gamaliel Buana (2nd) and Olivia Dykes (3rd).
AP Art - Chandler Thomas (Best in Show), Mallory Burrell (1st), Elizabeth Deffenbaugh (2nd) and Dale Jackowski (3rd).
Crafts 1 - Michon Kelly (Best in Show), Alexis Alton (1st), Charissa Friske (2nd) and Gamaliel Buana (3rd).
Crafts 2 - Hailee Manipole (Best in Show), Justine Dutton (1st), Amanda Beazley (2nd) and Angelica Meyer (3rd).
Photography 1 - Amber Kelly (Best in Show), Meghan Perks (1st), Emma Simulcik (2nd) and Megan Hall (3rd).
Photography 2 - Mallory Burrell (Best in Show), Sarah Lewis (1st), Caitlin Amick (2nd) and Frankie Zapata (3rd).
Graphics - Morgan Palmi (Best in Show), Maryann Haines (1st), Holly Roberts (2nd) and Ethan Peake (3rd).
