• May 5, 2012 - Madison Ruritan Club All You Can Eat Seafood Festival
  To be held at the Ruritan Club Building from 1 - 5 p.m. Advance tickets only. Includes: Fried fish, fried scallops, fried oysters, roasted oysters, steamed shrimp, clam chowder, hushpuppies, hot dogs, french fries, coleslaw, beer, tea and soda. Call 804-448-4233 for information and tickets.


• May 5, 2012 - Walk-A-Thon to Benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
  To be held at Lowe-Massey Park, Across from Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located behind the Dawn Progressive Center at 16403 Dawn Boulevard, Hanover, VA 23069. Please come and join us in helping raise funds for a good cause, helping children with Leukemia and other crippling diseases. All donations go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. Licensed vendors who want to sell food or businesses who want to set up their own table or tent can do so for a $15 donation (or more) to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. • May 11, 2012 - The Friends of the Caroline Library 25th Annual Dinner and Auction
  To be held at the Bowling Green Event Hall, 117 Butler Street, Bowling Green VA. Wine tasting by Grapes of Taste will start at 5:30 p.m., dinner will commence at 6 p.m. and the auction which will include a Kindle donated by Union First Market Bank, will take place at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 per person for all the events or $5 for the auction only.   To be held at Mattaponi Springs Golf Club. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with Tee Off at 8:30 a.m. Support the Kids of Caroline Little League. Enter a foursome or they can team you up. Captain's choice format $100 per player (includes golf, lunch, prizes). Featuring Bill Green's "World Famous Chicken" and desserts by Cafe Express Catering.
